We stayed at the Super 8 in Cooke City. I had actually contacted the ElkHorn Lodge, which looks very nice from the outside when we saw it a month ago. I was conversing via email with the owner and noted that I saw that the lodge was for sale. I asked how this might affect our lodging plans , which were about 8 months beyond. She never responded back to me and so that made me a bit concerned and thus I went with Super 8 and did not regret it.
As far as dinner, the one night we stayed in Cooke City, we arrived back from Lamarr fairly late and we had a great meal at the Beartooth Cafe. I think they have a website. You can probably google that and they should have the hours posted.
I don't know if you are into beer or not but try a Moose Drool if you have the op.
