Mid September the elk are in rut. Bugling is really active in the mornings but can be heard all day depending on where you are at. Might have snow in one area and warmer temps at another. Great scenery and no crowds.
My wife and I will be coming in from PA on the 13th. Staying in Cooke City the 1st few days.
